Kororā (little penguin) at Shelly Bay have been the subject of many news stories this week. This article provides an excellent overview of the work we have been doing on the protection of kororā and some of the agencies involved. For further detail, please read this collaborative statement, released by Taranaki Whānui ki Te Upoko o Te Ika. If curious to know more about Kororā, we recommend this overview from the Department of Conservation. We look forward to updating you on the work we are also undertaking with mokomoko (lizards), kaka and falcons.
For any media enquiries on the kororā, please contact Kirsty Tamanui from Taranaki Whānui ki Te Upoko o Te Ika on 027 459 9050.
